On "less then"

I am so fucking sick of peopel saying "A is X times less then Y"...

If you want to say "Y is X times {more, bigger ,longer} then A" I woulh not have any complaints, but the "A is X times less then Y" has and will always bug me!

It is so extreme that I physically twitch when I hear it.
